Robert C. Solano

Robert Charles Solano was born on May 8th, 1941 to Raymond and Ida Solano in Mt. Vernon, New York. Bobby graduated A.B. Davis High School in 1959, where he met the love of his life,Dolores. They were married on October 6th, 1962.  

Bobby was the proud owner and operator of Solano’s Lincoln Lounge Restaurant in Mount Vernon, NY for over 50 years.  An old-fashioned eatery where friends and family gathered regularly to share in the friendly atmosphere.  His kindness, warmth and class were some of his most admirable qualities and his generosity is legendary.

He served as a Mount Vernon Volunteer Fireman, Engine Company No. 1 in the 1960’s. 

Bobby was an avid fan of the New York Mets. He greatly enjoyed horseracing, summers on Long Beach Island and annual trips to Saratoga with his family and friends.  Later in life hedeveloped a penchant for coin collecting, never missing the opportunity to slip a coin to his grandchildren at each family gathering. But most of all, he loved nothing more that spending time with his beloved family.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores and his four children, Carolyn Rossetti (Michael), Robert (Cara), Donna Rosell (Michael), Michael (Christina) and nine grandchildren Michael and Gina Rossetti, Robbie, Brittany, and Steven Solano, Michael, Christian, and Andrew Rosell, and Julianna Solano.

He is also survived by siblings Joanne McOsker, Quentin, Raymond, Geraldine DeAngelis, Peter, Donna Meinel and many loving nieces and nephews.  He is pre-deceased by his brother, Dennis

Family will honor Bobby’s life on Tuesday May 14, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave, Mt. Vernon, NY 10552 (914) 699-4010. Funeral Mass 10:00 am Wednesday May 15, 2019 at St. Eugene’s Church, Yonkers.
