Maria Damiano

Maria Damiano of Mt. Vernon passed away on July 16, 2018. Maria was born in Guardia Lombardi Italy on Nov. 27, 1933 to Antonio and Rocchina DiLeo. Maria married Gaetano Damiano in Oct. of 1952 in Guardia Lombardi Italy. Maria and her two sons moved to Canada in 1966 to join her husband Gaetano. In 1969 they came to the United States. Maria will always be remembered for her simple beautiful life where friends and family were everything. She was loved by friends and family, husband, sons and endeared by her grandchildren. She was the most giving person imaginable where everyone else came first. You never left her home hungry or empty handed. She lived the age of innocence in its purist form. Maria is survived by her two sons Antonio Damiano Sr. and Rocco Damiano, her brother Joseph DiLeo and two grandchildren Christina and Isabella. Predeceased by her husband Gaetano and her grandson Antonio Jr. Family and friends will honor Maria's life at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8pm. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at St. Peter and Paul Church 10 am. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
