Manny Barreiro

Manuel (Manny) Martins Barreiro went home to the Lord on April 6, 2018. Manny was born on September 27, 1949 to Maria Loudes and Albilio Barreiro at Mt. Vernon Hospital. He was a twin to his sister Maria Celeste. Manny was an employee of the Westchester County DSS for 35 years, serving in his last position as Director of Child Support. Manny was known for his generosity and help to all. An elected member of the Mount Vernon School Board for ten years, he was devoted to the city of his birthplace. Manny's love of people was shared by his family and friends. In retirement he spent much of his time with his friends at Dunkin Donuts and Empire City Casino. Manny is survived by his beloved mother, Marie Loudes Veloso and predeceased by his father, Albilio and sister Maria Celeste. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church. Interment at Gate of Heaven.
