Joseph F. Tarantino, of Mt Vernon passed away on May 24, 2018. He was born on February 7, 1932 in New Rochelle to Anthony and Carmela (Guerrieri) Tarantino. He graduated New Rochelle High School in 1951 and went to work for Contour Extrusion Co. in Mamaroneck. In 1952, Joe entered the Army, serving in Korea. Upon discharge, Joe went back to his job with Contour and remained with company (now known as Tri-Seal International) as a foreman in their extrusion division until retirement in 1997. Joe married Maria Leonetti in 1966. He is survived by his beloved wife Maria and children, Joseph (Maria) and Elizabeth Caravetta (James). He is also survived by six grandsons, Bryan, John and Michael Caravetta, Peter, Charles and Joseph Tarantino. He enjoyed painting with oils and wood-carving. He also loved playing golf with his nephew, Sal. Joe was predeceased by a sister, Rose Circelli, his twin brother, James, and his older brother Nick. Family will honor Joe’s life on Monday May 28, 2018 from 2 – 6 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Mass 10:45 am Tuesday at Sts. Peter & Paul ~ St. Ursula’s Church, Mt Vernon. Interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY
