It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Roland announces her passing on January 3, 2019.
Joan was born on July 13, 1932 to Paul Roland and Rose Cullen Roland in Mount Vernon. She was 86 years old. Joan graduated from Edison High School and became a beautician, to then go on and own her own shop.
Joan was a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon.
She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters – Paul Roland, Ruth York, Robert Roland, Dorothy DeSanto, Donald Roland, John Roland, Catherine Miley and Marion Augustine. Joan leaves behind her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Beatrice Roland and Ruth Roland.
A celebration of her life will be held at Saints Peter & Paul and St. Ursula Church located at 129 Birch Street, Mount Vernon at 10:45 am on January 26th.
