Celeste P. Vazzana

Celeste P. Vazzana of Scarsdale passed away on August 6, 2019.  Celeste was born in the Bronx on March 17, 1917 to Germano & Rafaella Pizzani.  She married Frank Vazzana on Nov. 20, 1938.  Celeste worked for NY Telephone Co. as a benefits manager retiring in 1982.   She was recently honored by White Plains Hospital for her 30 years of volunteer service.  She an active parishioner in her church and was also active with the New Rochelle Senior Program.   Celeste is survived by her 4 daughters Barbara DeGeorge (Ron), Celeste Johnson (Daniel), Francine Schornstein (Ronald) and Dr. Suzanne Vazzana (Randolph Armstrong).  Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  Predeceased by her husband Frank in 1967 and her adopted daughter Veronica Cardillo.  Family and friends will honor Celeste’s life at the Yannatuono Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8pm.  Mass of Christian burial Friday 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation to the New Rochelle or Mt. Vernon Animal Shelters would be appreciated.
