Barbara C Green

Barbara C. Green of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:38 P.M. She was a third child Myrtle Wells and Vincent Green, born on June 8, 1946, in Kingston, Jamaica, B.W.I  Barbara followed  one of her passions and went on to study nursing; the other being numbers, and began her career at what is now , St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Yonkers, NY for the Sisters of Charity. Barbara eventually became the Director of Material Management and after years in this position, she retired. Barbara had many interest, reading, singing, the theater, debating politics, and following the seasonal sports. She enjoyed and could speak on both college and professional basketball and football. She enjoyed watching tennis and always found herself at the U.S. Open. She also enjoyed being a part of the committee organizing the annual fundraiser, the golf outings at St. Joseph’s. Two sisters, Diamond Green and Jean Hurst, and one brother, George Green, survive Barbara. Two nieces, Monique Jones and Lauren Hurst and two nephews, Cory Green and Jonathan Hurst, a host of cousins also survives her, three generations deep. Parents, Myrtle and Vincent predeceased her. Barbara is no longer in pain and for this the family is eternally grateful. To God be the glory for the wonderful things He has done.
