Aurora Goncalves

Aurora Maria Afonso Goncalves was born in Cabril, Portugal on Sept. 25, 1929 and was the daughter of Antonio Afonso and Filomena Rosa De Miranda.   Aurora and her husband Joao Goncalves were married on August 5, 1961.  in early 1960's Aurora and Joao emigrated to Brazil where their son Antonio was born in 1963.  In 1970 Aurora and her family emigrated to the United States and settled in Mt. Vernon, NY where Aurora worked in the Garment industry.  
Aurora passed away the morning of Tuesday, March 26 at the age of 89.  Aurora is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Joao and her son Antonio (wife Darlene), grandchildren John and Alec and her siblings Delfim, Domingos, Ilidio and Florinda.  Aurora had 3 other siblings; Anibal, Virginia and Ana Rosa, who predeceased her.  
Aurora was so caring, kind and so full of love for her immediate and extended family.  Aurora's life revolved around her family and she loved being around children.  Aurora will be sorely missed by her husband, son, family and friends, all who love and adore her beyond what words can convey.  We love you dearly and will never forget you.
