Assunta Giglio

Assunta Giglio, 97, of Mount Vernon, NY passed away on December 27, 2018. Sue was born in the Bronx, on July 25, 1921 to the late Pasqualina & Cesare Pennacchia. She graduated from Julia Richman High School in New York City and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Good Counsel College in White Plains, NY in 1943. She then continued her graduate studies at Columbia University in New York City. She was married to the late Deacon Pasquale Giglio on October 6, 1951. For many years, she was employed as an elementary school teacher in the Bronx in both parochial and public schools including P.S 62. She was also a librarian in the New York City Public Library System. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary Ann and is survived by her other three children, John (Mt Vernon NY), Nancy Pescosolido and her husband Vincent (Monroe, CT), their two daughters Amy and Stacy, and Paul and his wife Margaret (Richmond, VA) and their two children Clayton and Claire O’Keefe.
