Arnaldo F. Da Costa passed away peacefully at 84, in the morning of December 3, 2019, at home next to his loving wife Lurdes. Arnaldo was born in Portugal. After marring the love of his life in 1964 they later moved to South Africa and then back to Portugal and eventually settled in New York City in 1967. He worked as an electrician and was a proud member on the IBEW Local #3 electricians union. In 1975 he bought his first and only home in Mount Vernon NY and fulfilled his American dream. After he retired he enjoyed traveling to Portugal every summer to see family. He was a devoted Catholic, proud parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul’s R. C. Church, loved attending daily mass and holding a weekly prayer group at the local assisted living facility. He was the jack of all trades and was more than happy to help family, friends, neighbors or strangers with anything that needed fixing. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lurdes and three children, son Antonio, daughters Sofia (Mike) and Diana (Sal). He is also survived by his five sisters, Maria, Gloria, Otilia, Ana, Rosa , 2 brothers, Fernando and Alberto along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased are his parents Lino and Sofia, brother Robi and sister Mena.
